Wig Care
Caring for your Pink Sisters' Wig

When cared for correctly, your Pink Sisters' wig will look great and last longer.
Your Pink Sisters' wig will come with a tag outlining general care and cleaning instructions.

Washing your Synthetic Wig

How often should I wash my wig?
It is recommended that you wash your wig every 10 to 14 wears. So, if you wear your wig every day, you should probably give it a wash every two weeks. If you only wear your wig occasionally, it may only require washing every 2 to 3 months.
If you are using styling products on your wig you will need to wash it more often than if you are just using wig conditioning spray.

How do I wash my wig?
Gently remove any tangles from your wig using your fingers, a wig brush or a wide toothed comb.

Fill a sink with cool water (NEVER HOT). Using hot water can damage the fibres of your wig and/or affect the body and style of your wig.

Add a small amount of synthetic wig shampoo to the sink.

Gently submerse your wig in the water and gently swish it around to loosen any dirt from the lengths of your wig. DO NOT RUB the fibres or the scalp of your wig as you may damage or break them or untie them from the cap.

Apply a small amount of shampoo to the inside of the cap and gently smooth over paying particular attention to areas where oils or make up may accumulate. eg. forehead or nape. Gently swish to loosen shampoo residue.

Rinse gently under cool running water until all shampoo residue is gone.

Fill the sink again with cool water and add a small amount of synthetic wig conditioner. Gently swirl your wig through the mixture.
Remove your wig from the sink and gently lay it on a towel. Gently pat dry (DO NOT RUB) your wig to remove excess moisture then place on a wig stand to dry. Drying on a foam or plastic mannequin head may stretch your wig and does not allow air to circulate under the cap.

NEVER BRUSH YOUR WIG WHILE WET.

Gently apply conditioning spray all over the wig and leave to dry completely before brushing or styling.

Styling your synthetic wig

How do I style my wig?

Your wig requires very little styling as it should generally keep it's original style.

For shorter style wigs, you can give your wig a gentle shake before spraying with a little synthetic wig conditioner.
Once you have put your wig on you can then adjust the hairs to achieve your desired style.

The best brush for your wig is your fingers. However, this is not always practical, especially with longer style wigs.

It is best to use a wig brush or a brush with wide spaced bristles to gently brush your wig.

Always start at the end lengths of you wig when brushing, and only brush about 5cm lengths at a time, gently working up to the scalp.

You can use hairspray on your wig to set your style, just be sure to regularly wash your wig to remove build up.

How do I store my wig?

When not wearing your wig you can store it on a wig stand or in its original packaging.

Storing your wig on a foam head may stretch the wig cap.

NEVER USE HEAT STYLING PRODUCTS ON YOUR SYNTHETIC WIG UNLESS YOUR WIG SPECIFIES THAT IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. Hot curling irons and straighteners can damage the fibres of you wig.
